About Me
Photography become a hobby of mine when I started Bible College in Austria over 23 years ago. Living in such a picturesque environment in a castle on a lake in the Austrian alps, I couldn't help but want to capture those sights to take with me. Fast forward a few years and I started assisting a wedding photographer with shooting weddings and editing his images. It was a shift in my viewpoint, capturing moments between people instead of inanimate landscape. After learning a lot from him, I ventured into my own arena of photography and pursued weddings and later high school seniors. I became a high school teacher in 2005, about the same time I started working for my friend, and just completed my 19th year of teaching! Photography is a part-time job for me, but it's also a subject I teach at school, and I love it!
Interests
The Dominican Republic
One of my top interests is taking groups to the Dominican Republic where we are involved at a school for kids without access to public schooling due to their Haitian/Dominican ethnicity and lack of birth paperwork. My wife and I have been going a couple times a year because we love the people there so much and the perspective it gives us on the world. I have a separate website that shows a little more of our work if you're interested.

the outdoors
The beauty of this created world has always captivated me. Again, it puts everything back into perspective when you realize that the world isn't revolving around ourselves. Yosemite blows me away; the Sierra Nevada mountain range is my favorite; traveling the world allows me to gain new cultural perspectives; diving/snorkeling sheds light on other worlds beneath the water.
